What Is a Credit Class?

A credit class is a group of customers that share the same automation rules within Sage AR Automation.
Credit classes allow you to manage workflows such as automated reminders, communication templates, and payment options, ensuring consistency across customers with similar credit profiles.

How to Move a Customer to a Different Credit Class

Follow the steps below to update a customer’s credit class in Sage AR Automation:

1. Search for the Customer Account

   • In the search bar at the top of the screen, begin typing the customer’s name or ID.

   • Press Enter to open the customer’s account.

2. Open the Account Options

   • Click the dropdown arrow to the left of the customer’s name.

3. Select “Edit”

   • On the Credit tab, click the Edit button in the upper-right corner.

4. Change the Credit Class

   • From the Credit Class dropdown, select the new class you want to assign to the customer.

5. Save Your Changes

   • Click Save to apply the update.

Example

In this example, the user is updating Widmore Manufacturing to a new credit class.
You can view and edit details like Credit Class, Bypass Surcharge, and Allow Online Payment from the Credit tab.
